Join the Band

Enquiries from new players wishing to join the Band are always welcome.

The band strives to achieve high standards, so we look for confident and competent players who can also sight read to a reasonable standard.

For principal positions, we would expect a standard of around Grade 8.

To help ensure good playing standards, maintain a balanced ensemble, and retain our current 1st section grading for contesting, Ocean Brass has adopted the following process for players interested in joining the Band.

Ocean Brass: Musical Director
Applications are invited for the post of Musical Director for Ocean Brass.

Following the decision by the current MD to step down from this position Ocean Brass, a friendly First Section band based in Southampton, wishes to appoint a new Musical Director.
